It was another beautiful sunny “cool” April day in Phoenix so I decided to put on my rollerblades and get some exercise and tour a neighborhood at the same time. The pick of the day was – Arcadia. I was feeling good and quite ambitious so I started my trip from my office located at Camelback and 28th Street to Arcadia. The plan was to start at 44th Street and Indian School Road and work my way north and then east to rollerblade along Exeter Blvd. I just love that street, one for it’s very scenic with Camelback Mountain views, two for its beautiful home architecture, three for its very green and lush landscaping, and four for it has one of the smoothest streets to rollerblade on. I always wondered why people don’t rollerblade in Phoenix and felt quite awkward rollerblading at first- but I quickly realized after putting my rollerblades on for the first time that it must be the very bumpy streets!
I made it to Indian School and 44th and grabbed a quick lunch at Pita Jungle and then continued up north. I was so excited and took out my camera to start the photography session when. . . . .in an attempt to turn on the camera it said: “change battery pack”!! No way! I couldn’t believe it – how could I not think about charging the battery first. Soooo, not so excited anymore, I rollerbladed back to my car. Well, at least it wasn’t for nothing- I got some exercise. However, the plan for the day was to tour and take photos of Arcadia neighborhood, so I decided to charge that battery at home and go back- only this time leave my car at some parking lot in Arcadia and just tour the neighborhood. I stuck to the plan and I returned to Arcadia couple hours later. I got plenty of exercise took some pictures and created my first video.
What is the big fuss over Arcadia and where is Arcadia? It is located between 44th Street and 68th Street; and between Indian School Road and Camelback Road in Phoenix, Arizona. Arcadia has one of the most convenient locations with minutes to Old Town Scottsdale, downtown Phoenix, Fashion Square Mall and Biltmore Mall, restaurants, cafes, galleries, etc. Arcadia feels like a suburb, yet you’re in the city in the middle of everything. This impressive neighborhood was established in 1950’s from what it used to be orange groves, which is still evident by tons of orange trees throughout. Arcadia is known for its excellent schools, upscale custom homes, large homesites, and lush landscaping with mature trees and grass everywhere. Desert landscaping is quite uncommon in Arcadia. Residents enjoy stunning views of Camelback Mountain, which also happens to be one the most popular hiking destinations in Phoenix. The original architecture of Arcadia was ranch style homes, however, these days you will also find two-story homes.
Home prices in Arcadia start in the low $200′s going all the way up to over $10 million.

[...] Arcadia, in East Phoenix, is one of my favorite Phoenix neighborhoods. In fact, I recently reported on my adventures the afternoon I spent on my roller blades, taking photos of the beautiful homes in Arcadia. [...]
